Tanja Blondin was born in Germany where, as a young
girl, she spent many hours watching the delicate pastries and cakes come out of
her Grandmother's oven. She knew even then she wanted to follow in her
Grandmothers footsteps.
Initially self taught, Tanja received her 'Certificat de
Traiteur' at Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa Culinary Arts Institute in 'cuisine and
pastry' and went on to receive her 'Advanced Cake Decorating' certification at
Artistic Cake Design. She initially honed these skills working for Shep's
Catering but her real experience in Diamond Resort Pastry Design came while
working in the pastry kitchen at Ottawa's famous Brookstreet Hotel.
In business for 10 years now, Tanja has become well known
for her catering services where she has built a reputation for a wide variety
of fine food, attention to detail, outstanding customer support and reasonable
prices - but her real passion and success is in wedding cakes. Tanja can be
found each spring at the Kanata Bridal Showcase and the Wedding Palace Bridal
Fair held at Ottawa's Westin Hotel.
Recently, Tanja was honoured as one of just ten Ottawa
caterers invited to participate in the City of Ottawa "Raise the Roof" fund
raising gala in support of the new Drug Treatment Center.
